On Sunday 26th April, BMW Drivers Club Melbourne are holding a Variety Stars on Track Day at Sandown Raceway.

Ever wondered what these days are all about? Come along and check it out and register for some course car led parade laps behind the Waverley BMW Course Car.

What car do I bring?

These days are designed for you to drive in your road car, or your track car.

Do I need a race suit and helmet?
No, these will be course car led parade laps, not hot laps, but we do recommend covered-in shoes, long pants and long sleeves.

How much will it cost?

Drivers cost $20 each.

Passengers $10 each if there is a compliant passenger seat and seatbelt.

If you have your car on display in the morning this event will be free for drivers. You can register a display car here instead.

Members and non-members all welcome.

All cars welcome as long as they are road/track worthy.

All attending must complete the risk disclaimer at the track then receive a wrist band.

Do I need a Motorsport Australia Licence?

No, your road licence/learner's permit is enough.

Also, if you think you might want to officiate at some of our events, this is a great day to come along and speak with the other experienced Motorsport Australia officials and find out all about the different aspects of officiating and why we all love it.

There will be food vans there to enjoy some lunch while chatting with the competitors and officials.

Travel to the underworld of Chicago of the 1920's to find out who shot Vince "The Knife" Spagettelli. Could it have been something to do with the robbery of the Capital Bank or the boss, Tyrone "The Shark" Grappa trying to keep control of the mob?

Put on an old suit and a bad accent to become a gangster, a gangster's girlfriend or a crooked politician and swing along and have a fun filled night.

Dress Theme 1920s or Formal

Enjoy canapes and complimentary drinks while you mingle with the other suspects and then enjoy a scrumptious 2 course meal with free beer, wine and soft drinks.

$100 per Adult - Early Bird Pricing

$125 per Adult - Non early Bird Pricing.

We will still be doing our presentation of winners from 2025, just with a little Gangster style.

Want to enjoy the night with no hassles about driving home then stay overnight and relax before and after the event in one of the Yarra Valley Lodge's fabulous rooms.

Join us for a Saturday afternoon drive through the beautiful scenery of the western parts of Gippsland. The drive includes some great driving roads – some twisty or narrow, others more open and sweeping. The scenery of the western part of Gippsland is beautiful, especially if the weather is good.

We'll start the afternoon at 1.30pm at Lady Lavender's Team Room in Bunyip for afternoon tea of 2 scones with jam & cream with a hot drink.
We'll depart at 2.30pm to arrive in time for
dinner at 6.00pm at the Kilcunda Ocean View Hotel in Kilcunda.

Afternoon tea is payable on registration.
Dinner food and drinks - and any extras at the Tea Room - are at individual expense on the day.
Please register in advance and include guest numbers to help us secure adequate seating at both venues.

Registration closes on Wednesday 13 May 2026
so that we can confirm numbers to the venues.

National Motoring Heritage Day 2026 Cavalcade (17 May 2026)

This event is supported by BMW Drivers Club Melbourne but is organised by Geelong Motoring Enthusiasts Club.

Its National Motoring Heritage Day on Sunday May 17 - a day to get as much of our motoring heritage out and in view as possible.

What is heritage?

Well, anything really but the older the better. Bring what you've got, older if you have the choice. BMW for preference but who's counting?

The cavalcade departs from the north of Geelong at 10:30 am and takes a not altogether direct route to Airey's Inlet to arrive by about 12:00 pm with an optional lunch at 12:15 pm at the Aireys Inlet Pub.

The start point is a regular "coffee and cars" style casual meet up which starts at 9 am, so you can arrive any time after that but be there by 10 am please.

The organisers ask you to register with them here so that parking etc can be managed.

We ask you to register with us so we have an idea of how many of our members took part. We will have a presence at this event, so we can try and get together for the drive and parking at the end.

June 2026 - Kings Birthday LONG WEEKEND Trip to Echuca

Join us on a long weekend 3-day trip to Echuca.

Saturday 6 June: Meet at Yan Yean at 9.30am for a 10.00am departure. Lunch is planned at Tahbilk Estate Restaurant, with some time to look around the historic winery. Then we'll travel via a couple of historic towns to Echuca, with some time to relax or look around the town before dinner.

Sunday 7 June: A day in and around Echuca. This extensive historic port area is a must-see; it was the freight transit point between the Murray River paddle steamers and the train to Melbourne. The trip booklet will have a range of other options, both in and around the town, plus a couple of short drive options.

Monday 8 June: After a relaxed departure, return through some more historic towns, vineyards and a silo art display.

Accommodation is at Mercure Port of Echuca, phone 5482 5666. This is within easy walking distance of the main features of Echuca.
A group booking has been arranged - quote BMW0606 for 10% off the standard room rate.
The June long weekend is popular on the Murray River, so
early booking is strongly recommended.
Remember to register for this event as well as booking your accommodation.

(Members of the Accor loyalty program: the group rate is cheaper than the "Classic" member rate, but you may wish to compare if you are on a higher level membership. If you use the group booking rate, you can still quote your Accor member number to accrue points for your stay.)

Challenge Bathurst Regularity 2026 -SATURDAY/SUNDAY (21 Nov 2026)

BMWDCM have been invited to compete again at Challenge Bathurst 2026.

Challenge Bathurst is an invitation-only regularity event and we are very lucky to be invited to join in again for 2026. This is a fantastic opportunity to tick off one of your bucket list items and drive on one of the best circuits in the world. You only need a level 2 or above Motorsport Australia licence, you don't need to have a fully prepared race car - any vehicle that you use at a normal sprint day will be eligible as long as it is a BMW and passes scrutineering.

The cost is $2180 per entrant which will be payable to BMWDCM on invoice, your spot will only be secured once full payment has been received.

Entries to General Public open on 1st May so it is imperative to register and pay in full to ensure you are part of this group.

Once the full payment is made to Challenge Bathurst, all refunds and cancellations are subject to Challenge Bathurst's cancellation policy.

What is a Regularity ?

A regularity is a timed competition event, where you nominate a lap time which you need to try to match each lap. This is not racing door to door, but allows you to drive at a pace that is comfortable for you and your car.

We will also need to supply flag marshalls to help on the Thursday and Friday.

We need your help, so please ask your fellow club members to come along and help out. Arrive early and volunteer as a flag marshal and help those who normally help you drive. Please remember without volunteers you cannot have fun on the track, so this is your way of giving back. All volunteers will be offered free camping. Accommodation may be available at the Bathurst University at a fee.

Any drivers volunteering on the Thursday and Friday will be able to go through scrutineering on Wednesday.

This is available to all current members of all invited BMW Affiliated clubs.

You will need to find your own accommodation and transportation to get there.

Full payment will be required on registration.

Full details will be sent out on the running of the event in July with further paperwork.

ALL paperwork needs to be completed or you will be deemed as not entered and you will miss your spot.

We will need volunteers to help run the team. If you are able to volunteer, or have someone in your family prepared to help, please register for that here.
