Come for one day or both. This is not a show and shine so any clean car is fine.
The Geelong Revival Motoring Festival revives the excitement and spectacle of the original Geelong sprints first run in 1956 and modelled on famous Brighton UK Speed Trials. Held on and around the Geelong Waterfront, the course is as picturesque as it is practical. The quarter-mile sprint is held along Ritchie Boulevarde and the track is lined along one side by The Hill. Forming a natural grandstand.
After not running for 8 years, the event was once revived in 2012 with an emphasis on the past history of vintage motorsport. Be it car and motorcycle racing, vintage caravans, car cruising, retro and vintage fashion - the Geelong Revival Motoring Festival is a celebration of motoring culture.
Once the cars are parked you are free to wander, watch the sprints etc. There are plenty of activities going on. Note an entry fee applies to gain access to the sprints area.
We will have the largest single club display space and we want to put on another fantastic display. You can see full details of the overall event here.
Because our display area can not be accessed by car once competition starts cars MUST be in place before 9am and cannot be removed under any circumstances until after the competition track closes which will not be before 4:15 but will be by 5pm.
We are required to meet up as a group outside the event area (Rippleside Park) and proceed to our display space as a group. The timings for this will be advised closer to the event but you can expect to be at the meeting point by (that is, no later than) 8 am so that we can enter via the competition track which closes firmly and finally at 9 am. We may have a slightly later meeting time, but not by much.
At this time the organisers have advised that all participants will be required to be double vaccinated against COVID. However, our display area will not be fenced off and admission will not be regulated by the organisers. Both of these statements may change. We will advise the final position a couple of weeks before the event.
BMWDCM is not responsible for any conditions of entry into any event venues, including COVID safety requirements. Please ensure you check any entry requirements with the relevant venue.
If you are feeling unwell we request that you do not attend any of our in-person events, regardless of your vaccination status.
