Join an enjoyable morning drive through the Dandenong Ranges and Yarra Valley to Healesville Sanctuary.
We'll meet at 8.30am for a 9.00am departure from Ferntree Gully Station Car Park West. This is the commuter carpark on the western (city-bound) side of the train line. Nearby, there are coffee shops, toilets and an electric vehicle charging station.
We should arrive at Healesville Sanctuary around 10.15am. Entry Fees: $53 adult, $48 Seniors Card, $40 pensioner concession, children free up to age 15. Zoo Members free. Each member is responsible for their own booking; the club is not arranging bookings. The Sanctuary recommends online booking in advance at https://www.zoo.org.au/healesville/whats-on/event-listing/entry/
See https://www.zoo.org.au/healesville for maps, presentation times, animal experiences, activities and events.
The sanctuary appears to have two small cafés – more like take-away kiosks with prepackaged food. You may prefer to bring a picnic lunch.
Of course, you are welcome to join the drive but not enter the Sanctuary.
For electric cars: drive distance is 66km.
There is a charging station at the start location. Recharging is available in Healesville, about 6km from Healesville Sanctuary.
DRIVE INSTRUCTIONS WILL BE SENT OUT IN THE FINAL REMINDER EMAIL.
We highly recommend you have a UHF radio with you on all our drives. We will be on channel 17, or as advised on the day. .
Please see our cancellation policy here. Meals, food and all other costs are yours on the day. Please give as much advance notice as possible if your ability to attend the event changes.
