Our first appearance at the Point Nepean Heritage Car Display was nothing short of fantastic. Despite the atrocious weather the day before, our members turned up in true BMWDCM style, bringing 15 beautifully presented BMWs (plus the gorgeous 1938 328 from the Dymond Collection) for display an outstanding effort and a testament to the passion within our club.
From the moment we arrived, we were impressed. The event was exceptionally well organised, with volunteers guiding us in efficiently and ensuring we entered as one cohesive group. A huge thank you goes to Lawrence, who arranged the Tour Boss drive to get us all to the meeting point before managing the short convoy into the display area. It set the tone for a smooth and enjoyable day.
Once set up, the weather turned on its charm, blue skies, sunshine and the perfect conditions for exploring. Members quickly headed off to enjoy the wide variety of cars and clubs on display. The atmosphere was lively, with a great band providing entertainment, fantastic stalls to browse, and of course, plenty of coffee and food trucks to keep everyone fuelled.

Events like this are always a favourite for our members. They’re relaxed, social and give everyone the chance to chat, catch up and share their enthusiasm for their cars. One of the highlights for me was seeing the general public stopping by to admire our display, asking questions about the club and showing genuine interest in the history of our members’ cars. I’m always proud to explain how our club was formed and even prouder watching our members speak passionately about their vehicles.

The day ended on an incredible high when BMWDCM was honoured with the award for Best Club Display, a huge achievement and one we are extremely proud of. Our displays always tell a story, with cars lined up thoughtfully and Lawrence’s fantastic window cards providing details and history for each vehicle. These cards were a hit, with visitors reading them, chatting and pointing out the differences between models.
This event was exceptionally well run, set in a stunning location, and offered a wonderful mix of heritage, community and automotive passion. It’s definitely one we will be doing again.
A huge thank you to everyone who attended, you represented the club brilliantly and made our first Point Nepean display one to remember.
